Description:
It is recommended that participants attend this class prior to attending the Advanced ACCA Manual D class. This class provides a review of the ACCA Residential Design System and approved software, Manual D procedure, and proper documentation. Learn how to achieve efficiency compliance while optimizing duct work for competitive pricing and comfort. North American Technician Excellence (NATE) continuing education credits are available for this class.
Description:
It is recommended that participants attend the ACCA Manual J Equipment Sizing and Selection and ACCA Manual D Duct Design courses prior to attending this class. This class will step beyond the introduction to ACCA Manual D to more advanced topics, including how to perform Manual D calculations both manually and using the official Wrightsoft ACCA computer software program. This class will be presented using computers for hands-on training. Participants will perform group exercises and have the opportunity to work on individual problems with the instructors assistance. Class topics will cover – Homes with multiple HVAC systems – Two-story homes with single systems – Using the computer program to generate room-by-room load calculations and select HVAC equipment – How to use the graphic design module of the computer software, which automatically calculates room-by-room load calculations and provides Manual D duct design. North American Technician Excellence (NATE) continuing education credits are available for this course.

Many homeowners are considering changing ‘Gas Furnaces’ to ‘Heat Pumps’ to provide residential heating and cooling.
The Training builds upon the ACCA Wrightsoft series and focuses on the Science of correct sizing of Heat pump systems and includes a Wrightoft computer lab portion.
The session builds upon Manual ‘J’ and provides a foundation upon which Manual ‘H’ will be built.
It is recommended that attendees bring their own laptop preloaded with the Wrightsoft Demo software
This full day training class is designed to introduce HVAC Contractors, General building Contractors, and Mechanical Engineers to the process of sizing, designing and installing small Commercial HVAC package unit systems.
This class includes three specific components:
1. Classroom instruction of the building science affecting equipment capacity and building loads;
2. Hands on training in the use of Wrightsoft™ to size small commercial loads;
3. Classroom instruction on the proper sizing procedures in ACCA Manual CS, and California Title 24 Ventilation Regulations.
This full day training class is designed to introduce HVAC Contractors, General building Contractors, and Mechanical Engineers to the process of sizing, designing and installing small Commercial HVAC Systems.
The training class includes two specific components:
1. Review of all objectives and priciples covered in the first two courses of this series.
2. Hands on software exercises guided by the instructor to verify students can properly design an HVAC package unit system for quality installation, as well as properly design the duct system.
As homes become tighter and use energy more efficiently, airflow and airflow balance is going to become increasingly important . Comfort and indoor environmental quality are dependent upon proper airflow into each room. The session starts with a classroom discussion covering the basic science and calculations involving airflow balance. Followed by a lab session that allows the material covered in the classroom to be put to practical use in a lab exercise.
Airflow measurements will be made with a flow grid and flow hood, other topics that will be demonstrated focus on the California Title 24 Part 6, approved Airflow measurement and Fan Watt efficacy calculations.
This full day training class is designed to introduce HVAC Contractors, General Building Contractors, and Mechanical Engineers to the process of duct design and register selection when installing small Commercial HVAC systems. This class includes four specific components.
1. Classroom instruction of the ACCA Duct Design procedure.
2. Classroom instruction on effects of CFM, velocity and pressure on duct desgins and general airflow terminology.
3. Duct sizing practice exercises.
4. Register selection and placement.
