Static Pressure and Air Flow
Static Pressure and Airflow-Part 8—½day session—This session covers the science and application of airflow principles to the efficient operation of HVAC equipment. Many of the residential systems in California suffer from the inefficiencies caused by high static pressure. Included in this training is a hands-on portion designed to compare various filters, fittings and layout issues that cause high static pressures.
California Energy Code
Overview of the 2013 Title 24 Residential Standards-Part 1—Full Day—Overview of 2013 Energy code and how it will affect raters, no discussion on proprietary programs or software from Cal-Certs or Cheers. As the code implementation date gets nearer there may be some adjustments in this course.
California Duct Test and Seal-Part 2—6 hours—Review of the HERs Verification and Field Diagnostic testing procedures along with duct leakage diagnostic methods. Included in this training is a hands-on portion designed to assist raters to more easily accomplish their assignments.
