This full day training class is designed to introduce HVAC Contractors, General Building Contractors, and Mechanical Engineers to the process of duct design and register selection when installing small Commercial HVAC systems. This class includes four specific components. 1. Classroom instruction of the ACCA Duct Design procedure. 2. Classroom instruction on effects of CFM, velocity and pressure on duct desgins and general airflow terminology. 3. Duct sizing practice exercises. 4. Register selection and placement.

Equipment Calibration @ SCE Energy Education Center, Irwindale

Class Overview: This class will feature free equipment calibration. Attendees will have the opportunity to check HVAC, 20150624_082600blower door and duct tester equipment calibrations. Instructor Gary Wollin will show attendees how to apply the principles for calibrating digital thermometers, refrigerant gauges (P/T) and pipe clamps used for checking pipe temperatures for both the liquid and suction lines. Attendees will be shown the field test procedure for digital manometers and be able to check personal manometers against newly calibrated manometers. Duct blaster inspections for proper airflow will also take place. There will be a demonstration on how to maintain duct blaster equipment including cleaning and checking for damage, and misalignment of the fan and plugged orifices.
