Class Schedule
This class will consist of a 5-6 hour guided study session for the EPA 608 exam, followed by a closed book, online certification 
exam. This certification is required for all HERS Raters who wish to perform refrigerant charge verification. The cost of the exam is $50. The 5-6 hour guided study session and study guide are free. If you already own the Mainstream Engineering EPA 608 study guide, you only need to pay the test fee. We will NOT be covering the Type I or Type III materials. We will only be covering the Core materials and the Type II materials. You are free to take whatever parts of the exam you want to, but HERS Raters only need to be Type II certified to perform refrigerant charge verification for Title 24 purposes.
This class has an online exam with an associated cost of $50 in order to receive certificate. Payment must be made prior to class to reserve seat. Please call for more info.

This 1/2 day class covers Manual ‘J’ Sizing Introduction Manual ‘J’ Wrightsoft Set-up and hands on training Detailed Cooling Capacity Data Sheets Air Flow Calculation Worksheets.
Class Overview: Day 2 – Building Energy Science II CLASSROOM: Discuss ‘Static Pressure and Airflow, Air Flow Measurement Techniques-Plenum Pressure Matching Method, Flow Hood, Flow Grid.’ HANDS ON: Measurements-Static 
Pressure and Airflow, Using The equipment approved in California. Fan watt draw and Airflow using Retrotec and TEC equipment.

CLASSROOM: Discuss ‘Refrigerant Charge’ and ‘Equipment Calibration’.
HANDS ON: Combine the Airflow techniques with Refrigerant charge procedures, Multiple opportunities to practice on various pieces of equipment.
